Item number: OL-OLANTERN-C2-PRO
Official Olight partner Genuine products · full manufacturer's warranty · to brand worldThe Olight Olantern Classic 2 Pro is a rechargeable camping lantern in the style of old barn lanterns: 360-degree all-round light with 10 to 300 lumens, continuously adjustable via rotary switch, in orange or warm white as you choose. According to Olight, the built-in 11,200 mAh battery pack lasts up to 180 hours on the lowest setting and charges your smartphone via USB-A and USB-C on the side. It is intended for the camping table, awning, hunting lodge and as a light reserve during power cuts.
Construction and intended use
According to Olight, the housing is made of metal and polycarbonate, the carry handle of coated stainless steel. At 124 mm in diameter, 186 mm in height and just under 757 g, it is not an ultralight device for the rucksack but a standing light for car camping, motorhome, garden and cabin. Three positions are intended: on its base on the table, carried by the handle, or via the hanging ring in the awning, in the raised hide or under the porch roof – when hanging, the all-round light gives the most even illumination. Protection rating IPX5 means: splash water and light rain are no problem, but it must not be submerged. Olight also specifies a storage limit of 60 °C.
For the standard version, Olight lists the colours Beige, Clover Green, Gunmetal Grey and Vintage Copper finish. The separately listed “Olantern Classic 2 Pro Smart” variant (copper, app control, 770 g, IP55) is not meant here; all values apply to the standard version.
Light and operation
Everything runs via the rotary switch on the front: turn clockwise to switch on and brighten, anticlockwise to dim and switch off. In the first half of the dial’s travel, the orange LEDs light from 10 to 130 lumens; from the middle onwards, the warm white LEDs take over with 130 to 300 lumens. In its own blog, Olight quotes 2,000–2,100 K for orange and 2,800–3,000 K for warm white – orange for the evening at the table, warm white for cooking, reading maps or tidying up.
For context: 300 lumens of all-round light is enough for a table of four to six people, 10 lumens as a night light in the tent. Full output holds for 20 minutes, then the lantern steps down to 200 and later 150 lumens – around 25 hours in total. The manual quotes 14 m beam distance at 50 candela; there are no flashing modes.
Battery, charging and power bank
The base houses a 3.6 V battery pack made up of four 18650 cells with 11,200 mAh. Charging is via USB-C behind the dust cap – with an 18 W power adapter in about 4 hours according to Olight – or via the magnetic MCC contact on the bottom in around 10 hours. The magnetic cable is not included; you can continue to use an existing Olight MCC cable. With both cables connected at the same time, USB-C takes priority.
The indicator below the rotary switch shows the charge level when switching on and dimming: green 15–100 %, red 5–15 %, flashing red below 5 %. While charging it flashes red and changes to green above 95 %. As a power bank, the lantern offers two outputs (USB-A and USB-C) with up to 18 W for two devices at the same time; any power bank use is deducted from the lighting time.

Olantern Classic 2 Pro or Olight Sphere?
The Olight Sphere is the small solution: 93 g, 60 mm in diameter, 75 lumens, magnetic base, coloured light and app control, but only a 700 mAh battery – a tent and night light to stick on. The Olantern Classic 2 Pro lights up the whole table with 300 lumens, lasts a weekend without a mains socket thanks to 11,200 mAh and charges phones on the side. Car camping, house and cabin speak for the Olantern; rucksack, children’s tent and the edge of the cool box for the Sphere.

Frequently asked questions about the Olantern Classic 2 Pro
Can I replace the battery of the Olantern Classic 2 Pro myself?
No. The battery pack is built in, and Olight prohibits disassembly. Before long-term storage, Olight recommends a full charge.
How long does the lantern run on one charge?
180 hours at 10 lumens orange, 23 hours at 130 lumens orange, 35 hours at 130 lumens warm white and around 25 hours at maximum with step-down from 300 to 200 and 150 lumens. Power bank use shortens the lighting time.
What distinguishes the Classic 2 Pro from the Olantern Classic 2 Lite?
The Lite runs on four AA batteries (no 14500 lithium cells), delivers 10–240 lumens, lasts 3.5 to 105 hours, weighs 645 g and has no power bank function. The Pro offers 10–300 lumens, 23 to 180 hours and two USB outputs; according to Olight, dimensions, material and light colours are the same.
Can the Olantern Classic 2 Pro be controlled via app?
Not the standard version. For that, Olight offers the “Olantern Classic 2 Pro Smart” variant with a copper housing, which can be dimmed via the Olight app and is specified with IP55, 770 g and its own runtimes.
How weatherproof is the lantern?
IPX5 covers splash water and light rain, not submersion. Olight advises keeping the dust cap on the USB port closed and the MCC contact clean, and keeping the lantern away from salt water and dust.
Which power adapter do I need for charging?
No power adapter is included. For the 4 hours quoted by Olight, you need a USB-C source with at least 18 W; weaker sources extend the charging time. Via the optional MCC cable, a full charge takes around 10 hours.
