Red Dot Sights

Red dot and reflex sights from Holosun, Osight, EOTech and Sightmark: enclosed and open emitter designs, Shake-Awake, solar backup and all common footprints – original stock from the official distributor in Austria.

Buying a red dot sight: what matters

The first question is always: which footprint fits your pistol? On optics-ready pistols the milled slide or adapter plate defines the standard – the most common are the RMR footprint (full-size standard, e.g. Holosun 407C/507C, Osight XR), the compact RMSc/K footprint for carry and subcompact pistols (Holosun K series, Osight K), plus manufacturer-specific interfaces such as Walther PDP or Glock MOS, for which direct-mount solutions like the Holosun SCS series need no plate at all.

Open or enclosed? Open reflex sights (Holosun 507C, HS510C) are lighter and offer the bigger window. Enclosed systems (Holosun AEMS, HE512T, Osight XR) protect LED and window from rain, snow and impact – first choice for hard use. EOTech holographic sights are special: the reticle is laser-projected and stays usable even with a partially damaged window.

On reticles: a fine 2 MOA dot for precise shots at distance, a 32 MOA circle for fastest target acquisition up close – multi-reticle systems (Holosun 507 series, Osight X) switch between both. Green reticles are easier to pick up in daylight for many eyes, red remains the battery-saving classic. Shake-Awake, solar backup and battery life up to 50,000 hours are standard on current models.

Frequently asked questions about red dot sights

Which footprint fits my pistol?

Your pistol's optics interface decides: Glock MOS, Walther PDP, SIG Pro-Cut and similar systems use adapter plates for RMR or RMSc footprints. Compact carry pistols (e.g. Hellcat, P365) usually take RMSc directly. For Walther PDP and Glock MOS, the Holosun SCS series mounts directly without a plate. In doubt, call us on +43 662 852 396.

Open or enclosed red dot?

Open means a bigger sight window at lower weight – ideal for sport and IPSC. Enclosed means the LED is protected from weather and impact – first choice for hunting, duty and all-weather use.

2 MOA dot or 32 MOA circle?

The fine dot covers only about 6 cm at 100 m and suits precise shots. The large circle guides the eye onto target extremely fast – perfect for short distances and moving targets. Multi-reticle models let you switch at the press of a button.

Can I combine a red dot with a magnifier?

Yes. A flip-to-side magnifier such as the Holosun HM3X (3x) or HM6X (6x) mounts behind the reflex sight and swings in when needed – turning your red dot into a mid-range optic in seconds.
