Official Kahles partner Genuine products · full manufacturer's warranty · to brand worldThe Kahles Helia RD-C (“Red Dot closed”, manufacturer no. 20021) is Kahles’ first enclosed reflex sight – built for driven hunts in the toughest conditions. The LED sits protected inside the housing, the 2 MOA red dot stays visible in rain, snow and dirt, and three hunting-oriented functions – Automaticlight, MAX LIGHT and SAFE LIGHT – secure the dot against battery drain, backlight and mis-operation. A Picatinny quick-release mount and flip-up covers are included.
Enclosed design: protection for the dot
On an open reflex sight the LED sits exposed in front of the lens – raindrops or slush can hide the dot. On the Helia RD-C the light source is housed inside the enclosed body; the 20 mm window is protected by the supplied flip-up covers until you shoulder the rifle. According to Kahles the anti-reflection coating delivers the best image quality across the whole field of view, and the precise 2 MOA dot minimal coverage on the game.
The dot: four levels, MAX LIGHT and SAFE LIGHT
Brightness is set manually in four levels. In extreme backlight or sun on snow, MAX LIGHT activates an especially bright dot – a function known from the K18i competition scope. Newly developed for the RD-C is SAFE LIGHT: hold both buttons for at least two seconds and the chosen brightness is locked, the auto-off is deactivated and accidental switch-off is impossible – intended for situations such as tracking dangerous game, when the dot simply has to be there. Pressing both buttons for two seconds again releases the lock.
Automaticlight saves battery in normal use: a motion sensor puts the dot into standby after 3 minutes without movement and wakes it at the slightest movement at the last brightness level; after 4 hours without movement the sight switches off completely. Power comes from a CR2032 cell.
Adjustment and mounting
Elevation and windage are adjusted in clicks of 7 mm at 50 m (0.7 cm/50 m per the quick reference guide); the range is 2.6 m in both directions at 100 m, and the sight is parallax-free from 40 m. The supplied Picatinny mount with quick release and screw lock allows tool-free removal and refitting in the field.

Helia RD-C or Helia RD?
The open Kahles Helia RD weighs only 42 g, has the larger 26 × 22 mm window and the larger adjustment range (4.0 m / 2.5 m) – the light choice for a free view. The Helia RD-C focuses on protection and safety: enclosed design, MAX LIGHT, SAFE LIGHT, quick-release mount and flip-up covers. If you hunt in any weather, track often or move the sight between rifles, the RD-C serves you better; if you want the lightest and most open sight, the RD.

Frequently asked questions
What does “closed” mean on the Helia RD-C?
The LED sits inside an enclosed housing rather than exposed in front of the lens, so rain, snow and dirt cannot hide the dot – the key advantage over open reflex sights in bad weather.
How do I activate SAFE LIGHT?
Hold both buttons for at least two seconds. The chosen brightness is then locked and Automaticlight deactivated until you release SAFE LIGHT with the same button press (manufacturer data).
When do I need MAX LIGHT?
In extreme backlight or very bright surroundings – e.g. sun on snow – MAX LIGHT delivers an especially bright dot above the four standard levels. According to Kahles, battery consumption increases while it is active.
How much does it weigh on the rifle?
Kahles states 125 g including battery and mount; length is 68 mm.
Can I remove the sight without tools?
Yes – the supplied Picatinny mount has a quick release with screw lock and can be removed and refitted without tools.
How long is the warranty?
Kahles grants a 2-year manufacturer warranty. At Flunatec you buy genuine products with the full manufacturer warranty, dispatch from Austria and a 30-day return policy.
All technical data are manufacturer data (KAHLES product brochure 07/2022, Helia RD-C press release 04/2021, quick reference guide BA-595-01; as of 23 Sept 2026). The manufacturer’s manual remains authoritative.
