Gun Coating from FlunaTec cares for and protects your technically sophisticated sporting and hunting firearms. Easy to apply, economical in use and uncompromising in effect: discover Fluna Gun Coating liquid for the small and moving parts of your firearms.

In modern firearm care, the high-performance ceramic coating from Fluna Tec plays an essential leading role. Applied after thorough cleaning, use Fluna Gun Coating liquid in the drip bottle to care for the small and moving parts of your handguns and long guns. The firearm care product is applied drop by drop, allowing precise and extremely economical use. The sliding properties of moving parts are significantly increased; hard, metallic noises from parts rubbing together are considerably reduced.

Application in 5 Steps

  1. Clean the firearm thoroughly and completely degrease the metal parts (e.g. with Fluna Gun Degreaser) – only then will the ceramic particles bond directly to the metal.
  2. Apply Gun Coating in a thin layer: the aerosol for large surfaces, the liquid version drop by drop for the bolt/slide, trigger and small parts.
  3. Spread with a lint-free cloth until a thin, even film forms.
  4. Leave to dry: surface-dry after approx. 30 minutes, fully cured after approx. 2 hours.
  5. Later cleaning without oil: a Boresnake or microfibre cloth is enough; if needed, clean with Degreaser and recoat.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I really need to completely degrease the firearm before applying it?

Yes – that’s the most important step. Residual oil or grease prevents the ceramic particles from bonding to the metal. Degrease thoroughly once with the Gun Degreaser; after that, a dry pull-through is enough for routine cleaning. The Degreaser is only needed again if oil or grease gets onto the firearm.

The firearm feels “dry” afterwards – does it actually lubricate?

That’s exactly the principle: the ceramic coating takes over lubrication as a dry sliding film. Users report several hundred rounds without needing to relubricate – the bolt/slide runs noticeably more smoothly than with oil, without dust or powder residue sticking to it.

Can I also use Gun Coating in the barrel?

Yes, after thorough barrel cleaning. Important: apply only a very thin layer with cotton wool or a felt patch and wipe off carefully afterwards – too thick a film can deflect the first few shots (similar to a classic oil-fouled first shot). Applied thinly, the coating specifically prevents this first oil-fouled shot and makes later barrel cleaning noticeably easier.

How do I clean a coated firearm afterwards?

No longer with oil. For routine cleaning, a Boresnake and microfibre cloth are enough – powder residue simply wipes off. For a thorough clean, use the Degreaser and then recoat.

Is the coating compatible with bluing, wood and plastic?

Yes. Gun Coating is colourless and odourless and does not attack bluing, varnished wood, plastic or rubber – it can therefore be used on the entire firearm, both inside and out.

Aerosol or liquid – which one suits you?

The aerosol is ideal for large surfaces and quick application. The liquid version in the drip bottle allows more precise dosing and is the first choice for the bolt/slide, trigger and small parts – many users combine both.
