Olight Seeker 4 Pro – High-Performance EDC Torch, 4,600 Lumens

The Olight Seeker 4 Pro is an outdoor and work torch with up to 4,600 lumens, 260 m beam distance and a 5,000 mAh battery in 21700 format – for anyone who wants to illuminate a large area (hunting ground, yard, workshop) and operate the torch with gloves: instead of a push button it carries a large metal rotary switch for stepless dimming. New compared with the Seeker 3 Pro is the supplied holster with USB-C connection, which charges the torch and locks it when inserted. Flunatec offers it in Black or OD Green.

Construction and beam pattern

133 mm length, 35 mm head, 28 mm body, 205 g including battery: the Seeker 4 Pro sits between a slim EDC torch and a searchlight. The aluminium housing carries a wrap-around rubberised grip, is waterproof to IPX8 and, according to the manual, designed for drops from 1.5 m. The TIR optic spreads the light widely – 16,895 candela at 4,600 lumens indicate a torch for area lighting, not for a tight spot. The 260 m according to ANSI/PLATO FL1 is the distance at which around 0.25 lux still arrives (full moon brightness) – so at close range the cone is very wide and bright, while at the end of the beam distance outlines remain.

Rotary switch, timers and indicators

One press switches on or off. Turning clockwise increases brightness steplessly – from the off state up to High, during operation up to Turbo – while turning anticlockwise lowers it down to Moonlight. A double click calls up Turbo, a triple click Strobe (13 Hz), a long press starts in Moonlight at 5 lumens, and holding during operation cycles through Low, Medium and High. The brightness and battery indicators shine through 1,200 laser-drilled micro-holes in the metal bezel: green in four steps from 75 % to 10 %, red below that. You set two shut-off timers (3 and 9 minutes) by double-clicking and holding.

Battery, charging and holster

The Olight-customised 21700 battery (5,000 mAh, 3.6 V, 18 Wh) charges in two ways: via the USB-C connection in the vertical holster (5 V/2 A, about 3.5 hours) or via the separately available MCC3 magnetic cable at the tail cap (about 4.5 hours). Turbo holds 4,600 lumens for 2.5 minutes and then steps down to 1,200 and later 600 lumens – thermal management, not a fault; for long sessions High or Medium (300 lumens, 11 hours) are realistic.

The holster locks and unlocks automatically: pulling the torch out unlocks it, putting it back switched off locks it, and in the holster the electronics limit brightness to below 600 lumens. Without the holster, the torch locks itself 10 seconds after the indicators go out; it is unlocked by turning more than 90° within one second. The mount with 3M adhesive pad or two screws holds the holster on a wall, shelf or in the vehicle.

Seeker 4 Pro or Marauder Mini 2?

Both are 133 mm long, but with its 43 mm body diameter the Olight Marauder Mini 2 is a different class: up to 10,000 lumens of floodlight, 750 m beam distance in focused mode, five light configurations and a 7,500 mAh battery – the torch for tracking wounded game across wide areas. The Seeker 4 Pro with 28 mm and 205 g is the torch you take with you every day and charge in the holster on your belt or in the car. Frequently asked questions about the Seeker 4 Pro

What distinguishes the Seeker 4 Pro from the Seeker 3 Pro?

Olight cites 400 lumens or around 10 % more maximum output with the same 5,000 mAh battery, plus the enlarged rotary switch, the micro-hole indicator and the holster with USB-C charging and auto-lock. A Seeker 3 Pro fits into the holster for storage but does not charge there.

Seeker 4 or Seeker 4 Pro – which one suits me?

According to Olight, the Seeker 4 is a thrower: 3,100 lumens, 400 m, 40,260 candela from an XHP50.3 HI LED with reflector, side switch, USB-C port on the torch. The Pro puts 4,600 lumens into the area at 260 m – Seeker 4 for long sight lines, Pro for paths, yard and work.

Can I replace the battery, and which one fits?

The tail cap can be unscrewed; before first use you remove the insulating film there. Olight specifies only the customised 3.6 V 21700 battery with 5,000 mAh; according to Olight, replacements are available from the Olight store. Charging takes place in the torch.

The torch does not respond to pressing – is it faulty?

Probably locked: 10 seconds after the indicators go out, the Seeker 4 Pro locks itself, and a press then only shows the battery status. To unlock: turn the switch more than 90° within one second or take the torch out of the holster.

What light colour does my torch have?

Olight makes the Seeker 4 Pro in cool white (5,700–7,000 K) or neutral white (4,000–5,000 K); cool white appears higher in contrast, neutral white renders foliage and game more naturally. Olight states the light colour of each colour variant individually.

Can I use the mount in the car?

Yes. Olight recommends a clean, smooth surface for the 3M adhesive pad and a 24-hour waiting time before hanging the torch in for the first time; on rough surfaces you secure it with the two screws. In the holster the torch charges from any 5 V/2 A USB socket.
