Item number: OL-BATON-TURBO
Official Olight partner Genuine products · full manufacturer's warranty · to brand worldThe Olight Baton Turbo is the Baton for anyone who values range over a wide beam in a pocket torch: 81.7 mm long, 91 g in weight, up to 1,000 lumens, 510 m beam distance and 65,025 candela. It concentrates its light rather than flooding – the backup torch for hunters, dog handlers and anyone who wants to see far at night without lugging a large torch around.
Construction, carry and intended use
The aluminium alloy body measures 29 mm at the head and 24 mm at the body, placing the torch between the smaller Baton 4 (63 mm, 52.5 g) and 18650 torches such as the Warrior Mini 3 (111 mm, 122 g). Behind the toughened glass lens sits a metal reflector with an LED with a round light-emitting surface that produces a clearly defined spot; the colour temperature of 6,500–7,500 K is a cool, high-contrast white. The torch is waterproof to IPX8, impact resistant to 1.5 m and rated for 0 to 40 °C.
The bidirectional clip allows head-down carry in a trouser pocket and clipping to the peak of a cap as an improvised head torch; according to Olight it does not fit any other model. A lanyard and pouch are included; there is currently no holster. In Turbo the head heats up to around 50 ± 2 °C according to Olight – normal for this size, but a reason to keep Turbo brief and to use the lockout in your pocket.
Light and operation
Five levels range from under 1 lumen (Moonlight) to 1,000 lumens (Turbo), plus a strobe. One press of the recessed side switch turns the torch on and off, holding cycles between Low, Medium and High, a double click starts Turbo and three presses the strobe; from off, holding for one second goes straight to Moonlight. The torch remembers the last level used; Turbo is memorised as High, and High drops back to Medium one minute after switching off.
To lock, hold the switch for about two seconds while the torch is off until Moonlight briefly flashes on and off; when locked, a press only shows the battery level, and holding for one second unlocks. A shut-off timer (double click and hold while switched on) turns the torch off after 3 or 9 minutes. The 510 m follow the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard (0.25 lux, roughly full-moon brightness); in practice, expect a fraction of that distance for reliably identifying objects.
Power, charging and runtime
Power comes from an Olight-specific 18350 lithium-ion battery with 3.6 V and 1,100 mAh (3.96 Wh), which is included and can be replaced. Charging is via the magnetic MCC-1A cable at the tail cap (USB-A, 5 V / 1 A): red means charging, green means finished, and Olight quotes around 90 minutes or about 1.5 hours. As an emergency reserve, the torch accepts a CR123A battery with the included adapter – with limited brightness and no charging function. Runtimes range from 2.5 minutes in Turbo (then 300 lumens for a further 92 minutes) through 10 hours at 60 lumens to 50 days in Moonlight mode; the battery indicator reports levels from above 75 % to below 10 % (red).

Baton Turbo or Warrior Mini 3?
The Olight Warrior Mini 3 is the larger tactical sibling: 1,750 lumens, 240 m and 14,400 cd from an 18650 battery with 3,500 mAh, tail and side switches, 111 mm and 122 g. It shines brighter and wider, while the Baton Turbo reaches further (510 m, 65,025 cd) and is considerably more compact at 81.7 mm and 91 g. For checks and self-protection, the Warrior Mini 3; as a second torch with maximum range in the smallest format, the Baton Turbo. Smaller still is the Olight i3T 2 EOS with an AAA battery and 200 lumens – a keyring torch, not a thrower.

Frequently asked questions about the Baton Turbo
Can I charge the Baton Turbo in the charging case of the Baton 4 Kit?
No, according to Olight the charging case is not compatible. Charging is only via the MCC-1A magnetic cable at the tail cap.
Does the torch work with other 18350 batteries?
Olight recommends its own customised battery (3.6 V, 1,100 mAh). According to the manufacturer, other cells of comparable performance achieve the brightness but cannot be charged in the torch.
How long does Turbo really last?
2.5 minutes at 1,000 lumens, then 300 lumens for 92 minutes – the head reaches around 50 ± 2 °C in the process. For continuous light, High (300 lumens, 103 minutes) or Medium (60 lumens, 10 hours) are the better choice.
How do I lock the torch for transport?
With the torch off, hold the switch for about two seconds until Moonlight briefly flashes on and off. When locked, a press only shows the battery level; holding for one second unlocks.
What applies when running on a CR123A?
Insert the adapter, expect limited brightness, do not charge. According to the manual, the torch also treats an Olight 18350 as a disposable battery if it is removed with less than 10 % remaining charge and reinserted – the indicators then stay off.
What distinguishes the Baton Turbo from the Baton 4?
The Baton 4 delivers 1,300 lumens but only 170 m and 7,225 cd from 650 mAh at 63 mm and 52.5 g – the flood torch for close range. With 1,000 lumens, the Baton Turbo offers three times the range and the larger 18350 battery. Clip and charging case are not interchangeable between the two.
