If you’ve bought a new firearm, be sure to give its barrel a thorough initial clean. Otherwise, machining residue, proof-firing residue and preservative grease can bake into the barrel. Regular cleaning thereafter preserves the value of the firearm and its precise function. Residue build-up can cause cartridges to no longer chamber properly or to jam. How to clean the barrel

1. Apply a small amount of Gun Cleaner to a felt patch and pull it through from the chamber end to the muzzle – make sure it’s spread evenly.
2. Leave to act for around 10 minutes.
3. Brush out the loosened paste and residue with a brass brush or a Boresnake.
4. Wipe the barrel dry – for long-term protection, then apply a thin coat of Gun Coating.

Yes, the high-performance paste dissolves powder, tombac and lead residue in the barrel. For heavy deposits, extend the dwell time and repeat the process.
