Felts can be attached to the felt holder with ease. The felt holder, which is fitted to a cleaning rod, ensures that the felts stay securely fixed in place, enabling effective and stable cleaning of the barrel interior without the felts shifting or coming loose during the process. The felts have a centred hole that makes it easy to fit them onto the felt holder.
The felt holder is divided into two different sections to allow the felts to be fitted correctly. A felt plug is screwed onto the thicker part of the felt holder, which has a wood screw thread. This felt stays firmly in the barrel during cleaning and does not slip. A second felt is fitted onto the thinner end of the felt holder, which comes loose from the holder during the cleaning process. This prevents the dirt picked up by the second felt from being carried back into the barrel and soiling it again. This technique allows two felts to be used at the same time, enabling quick, thorough and particularly gentle cleaning.
