The Privilegierte Landeshauptschießstand Salzburg, founded in 1425, is today a non-profit association dedicated to the safe and responsible handling of weapons. The shooting club attaches great importance to sporting and hunting shooting as well as to comradely and fair behavior among its members. The club regularly organizes competitions and championships, such as the National Championships for Sporting Self Loading Rifle 1 (SSLG 1) and the Austrian Championships for Static Large Caliber Handgun Shooters (SGKP / FFWGK). These events attract numerous participants and set new participation records, which underlines the high level of commitment and quality of the competitions. The main shooting range in Salzburg also provides a platform for competitions and events organized by other shooting clubs, thus promoting networking and exchange within the shooting sports community.
