The Schwechat Shooting Guild (SGS) was founded in 2004 by a group of marksmen and is dedicated to promoting the sport of shooting. Originally starting out as a small group, the SGS has grown in popularity in recent years and has seen a significant increase in membership numbers. As part of this development, the club began expanding its facilities in 2009, which led to the construction of a spacious clubhouse with all amenities by 2010. In addition, the 50 meter rifle range and the 25 meter large caliber/small caliber range were rebuilt and are now accessible to members. In April 2010, work began on the 10-meter small-caliber range. Since mid-2023, work has been underway on the halls to install a double door system for improved soundproofing. The SGS organizes various events and competitions, including special competitions such as the “SGS Benchrest Schnopsn’ Wettbewerb”, which combines shooting and card games. The club attaches great importance to safety and offers regular shooting times for its members.
