Originally starting out as a small group, the SGS has grown in popularity in recent years and has seen a significant increase in membership numbers. As part of this development, the club began expanding its facilities in 2009, which led to the construction of a spacious clubhouse with all amenities by 2010. In addition, the 50 meter rifle range and the 25 meter large caliber\/small caliber range were rebuilt and are now accessible to members. In April 2010, work began on the 10-meter small-caliber range. Since mid-2023, work has been underway on the halls to install a double door system for improved soundproofing. The SGS organizes various events and competitions, including special competitions such as the &#8220;SGS Benchrest Schnopsn&#8217; Wettbewerb&#8221;, which combines shooting and card games.
